Notes for Siemens 840D Post

Canned cycles:

Drill:
Siemens = Cycle81 This is for spot drilling or U-Drill cycles

Spot Face:
Siemens = Cycle81 As above and same atributes

Deep Hole:
Siemens = Cycle83 used for deep holes with HSSCo drills where full
depth is reached by first peck then using digression factor of 0.8
to a minimum peck value of 2mm

Chip Break:
Siemens = Cycle83 used for drilling using Solid Carbide drills.
Action: 1st peck value to spot hole at 1/3 feed rate,
2nd peck value = full depth up to max depth allowed by drill
should you wish to drill just a little deeper than reccomended then a shorter
2nd peck value will drill to the shorter depth then do a full retract and continue
1mm above last peck and then to full depth.

Tap:
Siemens = Cycle84
Action: set for rigid tapping and based on pitch value and will feed down to
specified depth dwell and feed back out. The tap will start at 90 deg spindle
orietation before each hole

Bore (F-F)
Siemens = Cycle85
Action: used for reaming, will ream to depth and feed out at 1000mm/min feed

Bore (no-Drag)
Siemens = Cycle86
Action: Feed down to depth, dwell then move -X by specified amount at 90 Deg
spidle orientation

Program Start:
Starts in G54
Supa D0 Clears all offsets
G64 mode ans "SOFT" accel/Decell rates - See Siemens guide for other options
Select tool number
Select tool
Set D number ( Edge number which is linked to the Length offset register Number)
Optional Stop M01
Start Spindle
Dwell for spindle to reach target speed
Move to X, Y, Z start position
Coolant on

Program End:
Action: Take cutter out of job safely and cancells all offsets and takes spindle
to machine home zero in Y and Z axis
